TMNT BBQ Boogie
Here’s an illustration I started a little after I was hired to work on TMNT in 2011. It began as a way to fill the time in between notes and character approvals, etc. I would pick away at it a couple minutes at a time whenever I had the chance. A jpeg of the OG logo was popped in there for placement only, I was going to do my own take on it. Also, I was going to put a proper background on this sucker, but when I showed it to Ciro (our E.P), he said I should leave it as is.
This image eventually made it onto a cake for our Season 01 premiere.
Hope you have a safe and wonderful July 4th weekend! Fire up the grills and raise a glass!
Wow, thank you for following me back. O.O I didn't expect this at all. Really, thank you.
Thanks for following me! Nice work!
Mutagen Man roughs
YO! I should have included these in last week’s post, since I drew these on the same file as the Pulverizer Melted concepts. While working on the pile of guts, I thought I would sketch up some Mutagen Man concepts. Part of this was done to help me figure out the placement of the organs and such.
Ultimately, I did the character turn based on a concept by Irineo Maramba, our kick ass design supervisor. Mutagen Man (2012 version) made his debut in TMNT episode 204, “Mutagen Man Unleashed”. He can also be seen in the background in a few other episodes.
Hi, thanks for the follow back > _ <
Here are a few concepts drawings I did in 2012 of Pulverizer’s melted form for the TMNT episode (#122) “The Pulverizer Returns”. The final design was a mishmash of these concepts. It was really tough trying to figure out how the guts fit together in 3-dimensional space. I remember it ended up looking like some medical textbook illustration. I’m probably certified to perform surgery now.
oh yeah, and I occasionally sneak little jokes in my character design sheets.
